We all want to enjoy genuine happiness, success, and more importantly, have a better place to stay after we are gone. But without knowing anything about the light of the world, you are lost. The Bible has an explanation.
Who loves darkness?. Literally, no one does and spiritually no one does. It is only the Devil and his agents who fancy darkness; and I don’t think you are one of them. Let me, therefore, introduce or reintroduce you to the “light of the world.”
Light is one of the most beautiful and useful elements of God’s creation. In the beginning, God created light to drive away the darkness that was covering the surface of the earth. He said:
“Let there be light;” and there was light.”
Staying in the lights helps you get protected from harm. There is joy, spiritual strength, glory, blessings, success, happiness, healing, hope, salvation, etc. in the power of light. Don’t forget, God Himself is light!.
“Now this is the gospel message we have heard from Him and announce to you: God is light, and in him, there is no darkness at all” (1 John 1:5).
Before I go any further, who is the light of the world?. To make it quick and simple; you are the light of the world, Christ Jesus is the light of the world. I will use the Bible to let you know how you can stay in the glorious brightness of our Lord Jesus Christ for the whole human race to acknowledge his power and salvation.
Don’t be surprised to hear me say you are the light of the world. The truth is you do not give out light on your own just like the moon. You need a bigger light(Jesus Christ) to shine just like how the moon needs the sun to shine.
Darkness represents something really bad(sin, misery, evil deeds, destruction, foolishness, etc). Whether you take it in the context of the spiritual realm or the physical realm. We, therefore, need to light up the world to make it a better place. And together, we can do it!.
Your Life And Its Challenges In This Dark World
To live in darkness means you are lost, blind from the truth, lack knowledge, and wisdom.
The Devil loves to lurk in darkness because that is the best condition for doing evil.
The thief prefers to work in the night, demons prefer to work in the night. In order to expel them away, you would need to fix up a light.
God asks Job if he has the power to make the sun rise and shine so that those who lurk in darkness to pursue their evil deeds be exposed. These evil people are easily ‘shaken’ out of their hiding places as insects are shaken out of clothing when the light shines on them (Job 38:12-13).
Anyone who is wicked is full of evil thoughts and darkness is the perfect medium of his evil deeds. Within his soul is full of darkness and everything he does is evil. Someone like this is totally lost in life unless he searches for the light of the world who is Jesus Christ!.
Be reminded that there are two different types of light operating in our world today. They are the:
1. Spiritual light
2. Physical light
Those who don’t know Christ Jesus in their lives today live in spiritual darkness and those who live in physical darkness are vulnerable to destruction. It sounds like a blind man who leads his fellow blind man. They will surely fall into a pit!.
In simple words: Light belongs to our Lord Jesus Christ and Darkness belongs to the Devil. The Bible accounts that Satan is able to transform himself into an angel of light. Meanwhile, there is nothing good in him. He is the prince of darkness, a liar and full of deception.
You Are The Light Of The World
God has given you the truth, and by accepting and believing in the truth; you become a holder of the light. Partake in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. You must shine for everyone to see that you have Christ Jesus as your source of everything.
“You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its flavor, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled on by people. You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill cannot be hidden. People do not light a lamp and put it under a basket but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before people, so that they can see your good deeds and give honor to your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:13 – 16).
“The master commended the dishonest manager because he acted shrewdly. For the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their contemporaries than the people of light” Luke 16:8).
Yes!, you are among the people of light and you must be proud of that.
Jesus Is The Light Of The World
There is nothing beautiful than allowing Jesus to light up your life and everything you do. He is the source of light. And within him, we can find all the treasures we need.
He has declared himself as the true source of light in the Bible. Without him, you are spiritually dead!.
“As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world” (John 5:9).
“The true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was created by him, but the world did not recognize him” (John 1:9-10).
“Jesus replied, “Are there not twelve hours in a day? If anyone walks around in the daytime, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world. But if anyone walks around at night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him” (John 11:9-10).
“I have come as a light into the world so that everyone who believes in me should not remain in darkness” (John 12:46).
How To Use Your Light
Indeed, you are the salt on this earth; don’t let this world lose its salinity. Go out there and shine forth. Let people know that the light of God has come to heal, restore the sick, give joy and salvation to anyone who believes in Christ Jesus.
Just like how the miner enters the dark cave with his light on his forehead; so as you should enter the world with the gospel.
There are too many pains, wickedness, and suffering in our world today. Not forgetting this so-called Coronavirus(COVID-19) which has brought intense fear and panic across the globe. Innocent souls are perishing!.
The Bible encourages us not to be afraid of what the evil world will do against us. We should still allow the light of God to radiate through us. Because in Him we can find everything that we need. The more you find yourself in darkness, the more you should shine forth; for darkness cannot comprehend the light of God!.
“And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not” (John 1:5).
You must share the gospel with those in darkness so that they can also enjoy the glorious benefits of the light.
Let the word of God be a lamp unto your feet and your path and you will never stumble or fail.
Because the light of the world has provision for all your needs. And as the Bible has said; those who are in the light will have a place to stay with the Lord when they die(Salvation).
There is nothing like darkness in heaven so let everything you do show the radiance of our Lord Jesus Christ in you. There is no need to be shy or afraid when reaching out to people with the word of God or demonstrating your faith.
When we keep on shining together, we form a bigger light that will drive away the darkness in the lives of many people. And by doing good and letting people know that you are a child of God.
They will come into the light and learn more about our Lord Jesus Christ. As a believer who holds the radiance of Jesus, you must bear good fruits all the time. Raise the light high for everyone to see.
