Who is Lucifer in the Bible?. Understanding the true nature of this fallen Angel will help Christians and everyone to live a life free of Sin and sorrows.

Who is Lucifer in the Bible? fully explained.
Lucifer is also known as ‘The Ancient Serpent'(Rev. 20:2), ‘Beelzebub’ or ‘The Great Dragon’

Understanding Lucifer’s Existence

Who is Lucifer?. God created all the angels in heaven and Lucifer is one of them. Perhaps one of the most popular names in our world today is ‘Lucifer’. Again he is famously known as Satan who is a fallen Angel. A name that has existed before the existence of earth. Angels, including Satan, were created long before our present world was made – Job 38:7

It would be very unwise for anyone to rebut Christians from learning about Lucifer. I challenge that, that is why I’ve decided to help find a good answer to the question “who is Lucifer?.”

You have a monstrous enemy out there and you want to stay ignorant of him. How can you even conquer this enemy if you know nothing about him? his plans, strengths, and weakness?

Thanks to Christ Jesus, through him we know much about Lucifer and his schemes and so we shall never fall prey to him.

As Christian believers, we must be fully aware of who Lucifer is, his craftiness, and plans to destroy the Children of God. For knowing about your enemy, you fortify yourself to get rid of him.

so that we may not be exploited by Satan (for we are not ignorant of his schemes). (2 Corinthians 2:11)

Meaning Of The Name Lucifer

The question of who is Lucifer? will require the meaning of the name and the personality bearing that name.

Lucifer means Light-bearer. ‘One that Shines’ and ‘Son of the Dawn’ names of stars. The earliest form of translation in Latin had ‘Lucifer’ instead of ‘One that Shines’.

In Latin, ‘Lucifer’ means ‘someone that brings light’. It is the name of the planet called Venus. This planet shines like a bright star and it is also called the Morning Star. Why?. Because people can see it early in the morning.

So Who Is Lucifer?

Almost everyone, especially Children has once or twice asked: “who is Lucifer?.”

Lucifer/Satan is the grandmaster planner of evil in this world. He has opposed God since he was cast out of heaven unto this earth. He often whispers lies and evil thoughts in our ears.

Lucifer delights in everything evil and unrighteous. He has vowed never to allow God’s Children to have peace, happiness nor live a righteous life.

How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn. How you are cut down to the ground, who laid the nation’s low. ” (Isaiah 14:12)

He is referred to as the “morning star” and in Revelation 22:16, Jesus Christ is referred to as “the bright morning star.”

I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give witness to you of these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright and morning star.

Some Christians believe false preachers, Bible Scholars, and perverts are using Lucifer to trade names with Jesus Christ. Jesus said

And he said, I was watching for Satan, falling from heaven like a star. ” ( Luke 10:18)

When Jesus was doing his earthly ministry the Devil with his cunning devices tried to trap Jesus to worship him. Just like he has always wanted to be like God.

Lucifer puts Jesus Christ into temptation

“Again, the devil took him to an exceedingly high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. He said to him, “I will give you all of these things, if you will fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Get behind me, note Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve him only.” — Matthew 4:8-10

Appellations Of Lucifer In The Bible

The Bible has many descriptive terms for this great fallen Angel. These signify the true nature of Lucifer. It paints a vivid picture of who Lucifer is. Some of them are:

♦. “Prince of  the power of the air” ( Ephesians 2:2 )

♦. “The Prince of this world”(John 12:31)

♦. “The Accuser Of The Brethren” ( Revelation 12:10)

♦. “A Murderer, a liar” ( John 8:44)

♦. “The dragon, that old serpent, the devil (Revelation 20:2)

♦. “The roaring lion” (1 Peter 5:8)

♦. “That wicked one” (John 5:18)

Should Christians Be Afraid Of Lucifer?

He has failed in every attempt to oppose God. And since we are the Children of God, we have the power to conquer this Devil and his angels.

He knew his time is fast approaching so he is working hard to draw people away from God and his magnificent salvation plan.

“You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4)

The Bible instructs us to take the full armor of God in Ephesians 6:11 – 17. With this, we can fight against the devil and all his crafty devices.

Misconceptions About Satan

1. Satan Is A Savage Looking Creature
I would like to iterate that Lucifer is not an ugly creature. It’s funny seeing photos depicting him as a dark savage-looking monster with two horns. And that is what we have been taught, the Devil.

God said Satan was a beautiful creature:

“Your heart was proud because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom on account of your splendor. I threw you down to the ground; I placed you before kings, that they might see you.” (Ezekial 28:17)

Well, maybe because he is full of darkness, a monstrous figure deserves him.

2. Satan Always Look Bad

There is a saying that “an enemy you know is better than an angel you don’t know.” Satan is the father of lies who could turn into an angel of light. He has already succeeded in deceiving millions of Christians.

Look around, he has agents everywhere. I mean agents who are wolves in sheep clothing. God has warned us all to be very vigilant because some of the chosen ones would be deceived. (Matthew 24:24)

“And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.”(2 Corinthians 11:14

In the actual sense, anyone who exalts himself is mimicking the life of Satan. He had wanted to be like God because of his position, beauty, and wealth.
