Is The Love Of Money The Root Of All Kinds Of Evil In Life? (1 Timothy 6:10)

Is The Love Of Money The Root Of All Kinds Of Evil In Life? (1 Timothy 6:10)

In life, we all need money to buy almost everything we need but how to earn it plunges many people into destruction. The Bible has forewarned us that the love of money is the root of all kinds of sins.

Love of money is the root of all kinds of evil
There is power in money. Money is calling, who doesn’t like it? It is what powerful rich men use to manipulate people in this 21st century. When money speaks —justice is denied, lies become truth, and unrighteous becomes righteous. Again the power of money easily turns kids into adults and adults into kids, money speaks and then fools become wise. However, There are several other things that money cannot do or buy. Because of its power and influence —many have ended up idolizing money which is an abomination unto the Lord.
Today’s article from African Paradise World will throw more light on how God wants Christians to handle money without allowing it to cause them to sin. King Solomon once said money is the answer to everything. As controversial as this sounds; I explained it for everyone to understand. Most times people misquote the original verse about the love of money in 1 Timothy 6:10 which says:
The love of money Bible verse
“For the love of money is the root of all evils. Some people in reaching for it have strayed from the faith and stabbed themselves with many pains.” (1 Timothy 6:10)
I want all believers to take a good look at the above verse; it is the “love of money” which is the root of all evil, but not “money.” Money is not a bad thing but if you wander from your faith and love money, then it is likened to idolatry. Money ends up becoming an idol in your life if you develop an insatiable taste for it. It will surely drive your faith away from God. Jesus said you cannot worship both God and money.
“No man can serve two masters; for either, he will hate the one and love the other…..you cannot serve both God and money.” (Matthew 6:24)

Is Money The Root Of All Kinds Of Evil?

Money is not the source of all kinds of evil, the only thing that is the source of all evil is sin (Romans 5:12). The transgression of Adam sprang evil into this world. This happened because of the deception of Satan.
God has many special gifts for us, it is, therefore, necessary to worship Him alone. If you need spiritual or material gifts, have patience and seek the face of God. Jesus said we should ask anything in his name and he will do it. Solomon asked for wisdom and God gave it to him, in addition, he added wealth which made him the richest man ever to live.
He blessed him with riches. So for anyone getting rich is not a sin but if your wealth drives you away from God and righteousness then you become a friend of the devil.

A Rich Man Will Find It Difficult To Enter The Kingdom Of God

If your mind is always on money and wealth, you might lose your salvation because it is a dreadful way that leads people to forget their maker.
Jesus said it would be difficult for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. And the question is why did he say this? It all began when a young rich man approached him to find out how he can gain salvation. Jesus told him to follow what the law says. He replied that he has done all that the scripture says. He was so proud of that, but Jesus told him to go and give out his wealth to the poor, get back and follow him. This rich man found it insane to do that. What did Jesus say then?

“Then Jesus said unto his disciples, verily I say unto you that a rich man shall hardly enter into the Kingdom of God”(Matthew 19:23).

Jesus said this because many rich men have idolized their wealth and have wandered far away from the grace and love of God. If you are a rich man and you think your money can save you without fearing God, O I tell you the truth you lie badly. Arrogance has filled the hearts of many who are wealthy. They move around without the fear of God. It’s sad to be led by the power of money but not the power of God that saves.

How People’s Love For Money Make Them Do Crazy Things

A pastor showing love for money than the word of God
A man of God trading the gospel for money. This is very common in our world today.

Some people are greedy enough to cheat, kill and destroy innocent lives to amass wealth for themselves, all because of the love of money in their hearts. Even some Pastors and Prophets are chasing money. Men of God who trade the gospel for money are already lost.

The devil has incited them to destroy things and people by any means necessary to be rich. In this very 21st century, everyone seems to find any means necessary to earn money and be rich to fulfill his or her fantasies; building mansions, buying luxury cars, owning huge properties, and satisfying his or her sexual desire anyhow he or she wants.

The youth today don’t mind sacrificing their friends, parents, strangers, or parts of their bodies for spiritual money. They only want to be rich so they consult demons and spiritualists to gain direct access to a huge amount of monies.

This kind of evil thing is very common in Africa. It is termed “blood money”. Youths are having deals with the god of money called mammon.

Recently, it has been rumored that because of the high standard of living, some people in Zimbabwe were selling their toes to magicians for money. The videos and photos went viral on social media.

Interested persons allow their toes to be chopped off at a price of about $40,000 plus a posh car. This gruesome act for money hasn’t scared some guys with an insatiable taste for money and wealth. However, Fact-checkers such as the BBC’s Disinformation Unit have debunked the news of that deal as a hoax.

Perhaps there is an iota of truth in that information. This is how money can manipulate people to do any crazy thing like hearing people sell their souls for money and fame. It is happening in our world today. The love for money is getting serious. It is something that is leading people to eternal destruction.

After living luxurious lifestyles for a couple of years, they become fed up, because the money god will demand sacrifice occasionally. Some have bitterly regretted chasing money in the wrong direction in life. Failure to perform the sacrifice will result in madness or death. This is how wicked and trickish the devil is. What does the Bible say to those who are hungry for quick money? It says they get entrapped and perish.

“Those who want to be rich, however, stumble into temptation and a trap and many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction”( 1 Timothy 6:9).

The devil doesn’t give anything for free, if he promises you the world never mind him because:

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John%208%3A44&version=KJV&interface=amp

1. He is the father of lies (John 8:44), he will promise to make you happy, rich and healthy but will fail you in the long run.

2. He will not fulfill his promise in full and make you pay for the little thing he has done for you with your life.

3. He will reject you when you need him most.

When the love of money drives you to amass wealth for yourself, will you carry them along when you die? will your money even save you from dying? Why then would you allow the devil to deceive you to love money but not your creator? Your life is more precious than money.

“Truly, every man goes on his way like an image; he is troubled for no purpose; he makes a great store of wealth and has no knowledge of who will get it”(Psalms 39:6)

I always say the devil is not wise. He is a liar, a crafty liar who can lure you with worldly pleasures to sin against God. If you are a believer, I will implore you to be on guard and you will know all the crafty devices of the devil. We came to the earth naked and in naked shall we go.

If you want to be rich, have patience and use the right path. Invest in something profitable, work hard, save for the future and gradually God will bless your hard work. When you use the right channel to be rich  God will bless and protect you from enemies.

He has said; “The silver is mine, the gold is mine said the LORD of host” (Haggai 2:8).

Yes of course he created everything in the universe, if you will humble yourself and get close to him with all your heart and mind, he will never forsake you. He will make you rich by blessing you.

When God makes you rich don’t be selfish, open your hands to the needy and anyone who genuinely needs your help. The more you give, the more your blessings increase. I understand many rich men do give to charities and that is a good thing. Be content in whatever you have and wait for the Lord for his time is the best.

In summary, do not let the love of money drive you to sin against God. Money is good for everyone but never be greedy, don’t fight for it with your life because any moment from now you can die and leave everything behind. What have you done to your soul for owning the world and losing your precious life?
