Why do people break the rules? In a world of so many rules and regulations, laws, norms, etc. People find them as a hindrance to their success, so they break the rules to achieve their dreams. Do you wish to break any rules to reach your life goals?
As humans, we have different behavioral patterns. Some have grown up being rebellious since infancy. The things we grow up with become weird into our subconscious minds. It, therefore, becomes hard to break it. Let’s find the answers to the the question “why do people break rules?.”
A person who grew up like that will always be an antagonist. And they have funny reasons to behave in a way the society frowns on it. Sometimes, they defy rules for the right reasons.
Why do people break the rules?. A scenario to consider
Imagine yourself in an exam hall finding it difficult to answer your questions. You are failing…time is running out. Would you waste the little opportunity if it’s safe to cheat?. Hell no! you will cheat to pass. Most of us have once done that in school.
Our world today is full of rules, laws, systems, and regulations, and a whole lot of these have detailed the dos’ and the donts’.
Breaking the rules, laws, etc, often attract sanctions. But sometimes we are encouraged to break the rules(apparently not the laws because they are binding for goodness sake. On the contrary, rules are more flexible and so carry low-end consequences).
Arnold Schwarzenegger once said, break the rules but don’t break the laws. He ACTUALLY GAVE 6 RULES TO SUCCESS. Here is rule number 2:
” Break the rules. We have so many rules in life about everything. I say break the rules. Not the law, but break the rules. My wife has a t-shirt that says, “Well-behaved women rarely make history.” Well, you know, I don’t want to burst her bubble, but the same is true with men. It is impossible to be a maverick or a true original if you’re too well-behaved and don’t want to break the rules. You have to think outside the box. That’s what I believe. After all, what is the point of being on this earth if all you want to do is be liked by everyone and avoid trouble?.”
The perception of breaking the rules for goodness sake sparks an interesting argument. Today, I would like to share one or two scenarios with you. I have heard a couple of people scream out “I love breaking the rules.” This means they find it interesting.
The rules say, don’t do this and that but others find reasons to do it for unimaginable reasons without being in any trouble. Have you ever thought of breaking any rule for your own success or happiness?. I guess you have.
However, the scary truth is that; The moment you decide to break the rules, you MUST be ready to face the consequences and the repercussions. Honestly, there are many good reasons why you should take risks.
Why Do People Break The Rules For Goodness Sake
Consider some of the following reasons. You could see that the person breaking any rule would feel that he is being restricted in a way that makes him uncomfortable.
1. The Blogger’s Dream
I believe every blogger or webmaster would like to rank higher in search engines. Businesses, institutions, entrepreneurs all want to reach more customers via the web.
And there are right policies and regulations from Google and other international bodies. The zeal for reaching out to more customers brings about competitions. Some break the rules and become unnoticed. Others find themselves wanted.
The question here for bloggers or webmasters is; Would you take the risk to break the rules like using black-hat SEO to outrank your competitors?.
Would you have an interest in breaking the webmaster’s rule intentionally?. I believe a lot will do out of obsession. Many have done it and has worked perfectly for them. Others have been sanctioned by Google. What would be your take as a webmaster?… Staying with the rules or breaking the rules?.
2. The Survival…
Here is a crucial moment for youths who are desperate for success. They don’t mind breaking the rules nor laws to achieve whatever they want. Some go to the extreme mile of sabotaging others in many ways.
The one who is hungry for success wouldn’t mind breaking immigration laws to reach countries believed to have greener pastures. “If”, they succeed they become rich and respected; “If” they fail, they would have to face the laws.
Hey, I’m thinking you may be interested to know about these Bible verses say about executing the laws for living a life worth living.
3. To Fix A Problem
People break the rules to fix what is broken inside them. This is known as retaliation or revenge. Unforgiveness resides in the hearts of millions. They don’t even mind breaking the most binding laws to appease what is broken inside them.
Anyone who does this has sustained many forms of excruciating pains ranging from emotional to physical. It is only revenge that will fix his pains.
The Story Of The Wise Thief Who Broke The Rules For Success
The story I’m about to share with you is a true story that once happened. I will re-frame and make it concise for your best understanding.
Once upon a time, there lived a man who worked in the mines for years. He worked so hard and honestly in other to get money to cater for himself, his children, and the whole family.
One day, he had a change of mind. He decided to break the rules, although security was very tight. Everything in the form of accountability was in order. This man said to himself “These employers are cheating us.” He felt exploited because he was earning meager income compared to the company’s huge annual income.
This man managed to steal a huge amount of gold. Investigation proved that he has stolen that gold. He was imprisoned for about 25 years. After spending nearly half of his sentence, he demanded a good lawyer.
He told the lawyer, “I hid the gold somewhere safe deep in the ground, if you help me out, I will share the gold with you.”
The lawyer didn’t opt-out. He said to the man “you have a fine case so I will do my best to get you out.” The case was made to resurface in court and finally, the man won through the kind courtesy of the lawyer.
Now, the man together with the lawyer went to the location where he buried the gold several feet in the ground. It’s been years so the environment has changed but that didn’t mislead the man. He found the right location.
They dug, and hold and behold they found the gold which worth millions of dollars. Since then their lives changed for the better. I mean they became filthy rich. This is one good scenario that answers the question; “Why do people break the rules?.” Breaking the rules could help people achieve their dreams.
Some more reasons compel people to be lawbreakers. People like breaking the rules because:
1. They find it very interesting. It is fun for them.
2. They feel their rights, beliefs, and dreams are being infringed upon.
3. Such a person feels there is nothing wrong if breaking the rules will bring success and happiness to him.
4. Some do that to revenge what has broken them.
5. Curiosity: Some of us are very inquisitive. With an experimental mindset, one may do what is forbidden just to see the outcome. This is the exact thing Adam and Eve did to incur God’s wrath and punishment.
