Life is unpredictable, the storm will surely come — but where do you seek refuge as a Christian? Happiness comes after knowing pains and sorrows. May this Bible lesson for your encouragement renew your hope in Christ Jesus today.
You surely need someone or something to inspire you on daily basis. And here I am to give you some encouragement for today. I will derive my inspiration from the Bible and I believe you would find it very helpful.
Each day has its own troubles and we are conditioned to endure them. Johnny Cash once said Christianity is not for sissies; he further said it takes a real man to hold on to the faith.
Before you get out there for work or whatever reason, you need to be filled with a positive mindset — perfected with the Holy Spirit. We already have our troubles and new ones crop up like tidal waves smashing against fortified walls —threatening to bring us down.
Well, there shouldn’t be any cause of alarm if you are well-grounded in our Lord Jesus Christ. If you barely know how to make it happen, I’m here to show you through Biblical lessons that will encourage you for today.
Please you can bookmark this page for your daily reflection. It will give you daily encouragement as you read over. Now take a look at the verse below:
“Now the God of patience and of encouragement grant you to be of the same mind one with another according to Christ Jesus” (Romans 15:5).
Our Troubles Vs Jesus Christ
A painful situation could deafen your ears to the voice of God: “Do not be afraid“, “Be still and know that I am God.” Ah ah, desperation has already set in; You, therefore, think of seeking relief from mere mortals —forsaking your maker.
This is a common mistake most of us Christians make. The fear of falling grips us so tightly that we forget the power of God. Where is your patience and trust in the Lord?
Your encouragement for today is to cling to Jesus Christ at all times. Your faith in him will appease your troubling soul and mind. I know maintaining your stance in the faith isn’t easy — so we need the empowerment of the Holy Spirit! If you don’t pass through the fire how would you be refined into a piece of beautiful jewelry?
Sometimes we overly trust in our human strength and knowledge to see things through. Such an ambitious lifestyle is fueled by our egos but not the Holy Spirit. This is what causes us grief, fear, and hopelessness.
But bear in mind that the God of encouragement is with His lovely children. It’s perfectly normal to go through life challenges of all kinds. But never turn your back on Jesus Christ for a single moment like what Peter did.
Someone might ask “What did Peter do?”
Jesus prophesied that everyone will desert him when he is handed over to be crucified.
The Scriptures states:
“But Peter said to him, “Although all will be offended, yet I will not.” —Mark 14:29
Jesus said to him, “Truly I tell you, that today, even this night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” But he insisted, n “If I must die with you, I will not deny you.” They all said the same thing” (Mark 14:30 – 31)
After Jesus Christ was arrested everyone following him fled away. Peter denied ever knowing Jesus Christ.
“But he began to curse, and to swear, “I do not know this man of whom you speak.” And immediately the rooster crowed the second time. Peter remembered the word, how that Jesus said to him, “Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” When he thought about that, he wept” (Mark 14:71 – 72).
But why would Peter be so coward to the extent of swearing to deny his Master? He was afraid of the troubles he would face.
This is how the Devil peddles troubles on us to deny Jesus. The Devil is crafty enough to control people with fear.
Funny enough, there was one gentleman who run away for his life naked:
“And a certain young man followed him, having a linen cloth thrown around himself, over his naked body. And they grabbed him, but he left the linen cloth, and fled naked” (Mark 14:51 – 52)
Stay Calm In Times Of Troubles
It’s a hectic world and each day the Devil roars like a lion to strike fear and panic in people. Not just that but to devour anyone who falls prey to him.
The moment you confess to believe in Christ Jesus then you must be ready to partake in his suffering— so that you would be worthy of sharing his glory.
God never told us, life would be trouble-free. The storm will come, the flood will come and the wind will blow but you will be able to endure if you stay faithful to God.
You see, Peter failed to boldly stand against the enemy in times of trouble because he wasn’t with the Holy Spirit. After Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven and sent the Comforter(The Holy Spirit) —John 14:16; Peter and the other disciples got empowered. They fought the good fight until they took their last breath.
We also need the Holy Spirit to fill us at all times to endure the challenges that would come our way as Children of God.
As I remind you to stay strong and positive in times of difficulties, I recommend reading my article about Bible verses that encourages people going through any kind of problem.
Learning From The Hardship Of Paul – Endurance — Encouragement For Today
Apostle Paul who was filled with the Holy Spirit in all perspectives wasn’t exempted from suffering. Why then would you think of running away from the turbulence in life?
Get prepared and endure to the end and your reward will come from the Lord. Starting from today, be encouraged to find joy even in times of darkness.
As Paul said:
“He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me.
Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong” (2 Corinthians 12:9 – 10).
In weaknesses God reveals Himself to us, His power is perfected in us when we go through life challenges. Finding encouragement today from Paul’s situation would help you stay strong and courageous.
Even in pains and weaknesses, we must worship God. Job tore his clothes and worshipped the Lord after hearing the heartbreaking news about his fields, servants, oxen… including the sudden death of his 10 children.
“Then Job arose, and tore his robe, and shaved his head, and fell down with his face to the ground. He said, “Naked I came out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return there. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away. Blessed be the name of the LORD” (1:20-21).
As Christians, the Devil will even use our fellow Christians to wage wars on us. He will use our family members, co-workers, friends, etc, as weapons of destruction.
Why? Because the very people in our inner circle know our strengths and weaknesses. Like he used Judas to betray Jesus Christ. Satan did not work through a stranger.
So we must be vigilant like snakes, and harmless like doves as the Bible has stated. Be encouraged to endure to the end.
“But in everything commending ourselves, as servants of God, in great endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distresses, in beatings, in imprisonments, in riots, in labors, in watchings, in fastings; in pureness, in knowledge, in patience, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in sincere love” (2 Corinthians 6:4 -6).
There is nothing new under the sun, let’s our praises be more than our requests. God’s plan is always the best. Trust Him unconditionally because he has the power to do the unimaginable.
It’s never too late if Christ Jesus is in the vessel. The rainstorm is powerless against you because you are grounded in Jesus.

Today’s Prayer For Encouragement Against Disappointment
Here is a sample of prayer for your encouragement for today. Ask God to strengthen your spirit and mortal body to withstand any challenge that will come your way.
Dear heavenly Father, I come to You pleading for You to restore my soul; revive my heart and lead me along the right path for the future for so much in life has become a disappointment and I know that I have strayed far from You.
Thank You Lord for reminding me that my citizenship is in heaven and that the things of this world will only cause me disappointments and distress. Help me to hold lightly to the things of this world and it’s enticing possessions, but keep my heart focussed on Jesus I pray, knowing that He will never disappoint me or fail me.
Refresh my weary soul I pray, and may I be like a tree that has been planted by the flowing rivers of life and may I sink my roots deeply into You Lord Jesus, knowing that my hope is in You alone… Fill me I pray with all hope and joy in believing and may I draw ever closer to You that by the power of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus name I pray,
Amen.
