I strongly believe you have an interest in reading this article because you are having your share of the unfairness of life. Let me welcome you with hope from our Lord Christ Jesus.
If after reading this, you find yourself in need of more inspiration, then I recommend grabbing JOHN BEVERE’S Book entitled:

In this eye-opening book, best-selling author John Bevere equips you with key biblical insights and profound stories to help you navigate your dry or difficult seasons with the help of the Holy Spirit (Our Comforter)
The second book I’m recommending is from Liza Osteen: “It’s On the Way: Don’t Give Up on Your Dreams and Prayers.”

I believe now I have your attention to this crucial topic which leaves a lot of doubt in the mind of millions of Christians. If it has ever crossed your mind to accuse God of being careless about your life challenges; then in this article I would like to remind you to reconsider your decision.
Maybe you would like to take a detour to read other related articles:
1. Understanding why God is silent to your problems
2. Why God hasn’t answered your prayers
Interestingly, I have known a couple of real stories of some Christians who gave up on God because:
1. They have waited for too long.
2. Their faith in God shattered.
3. Some an unbeliever brainwashed them to believe that there is no God.
You see, the moment you doubt the power of God to perform miracles or something big in your life; You automatically open portals for Satan and his angels to win over you through their crafty devices. Your mind opens up to negative suggestions.
And without any controversy, the Devil can help you get rid of your problems at a price. He will never help you for free!
Giving up on God would be a very big mistake. Because He is the best helper you could ever have.
Can’t you stay strong to the end? Find all the good verses or scriptures that inspire and surely your weary soul will rejoice within you.
If you are a devout Christian and still can’t understand why God seems far away from reach; Keep reading. I am very hopeful this piece of content will inspire you enough to light up your faith in HIM.
Honestly, I understand that awful feeling when you need God’s help and can’t see any sign of his presence. When prayers go answered, we still can’t be right to accuse God. And giving up on Him because you haven’t felt his touch doesn’t make you right. There is something you must do when you find yourself in such kind of hopelessness. Examine your life…
Have you forgotten how God demonstrated His power to Ezekiel? I’m talking about the vision concerning the valley of dry bones. Even if your life and everything you have is broken; God can restore it. Oh, where is your faith?!.
The Psalmist lamented:
“Listen O LORD! Answer me! For I am oppressed and needy. Protect me, for I am loyal! O my God, deliver your servant, who trusts in you!
Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I cry out to you all day long! Make your servant glad, for to you, O Lord, I pray!
Certainly O Lord, you are kind and forgiving and show great faithfulness to all who cry out to you. O LORD, hear my prayer! Pay attention to my plea for mercy! In my time of trouble, I cry out to you, for you will answer me” ( Psalms 88:1-7).
Getting The Basic Understanding Of Your Anxiousness For God’s Help
Some of the common problems plunging Christians into hopelessness include financial constraints, diseases, sicknesses, injustice, marital problems, fear, etc. And most of these are rooted in the spiritual realm and so it is not easily broken. It may require both fasting and prayers to break up any spirit of destruction or retrogression.
Perhaps God has already answered your prayers but the Devil has been a stumbling block. This is what happened to Daniel when he prayed for 21 days before he finally received his answer.
The situation that is making you give up on God may be similar to this one. Or it could be that you are going through a test of faith.
In a couple of my articles, I have iterated why we must grow an unwavering faith in God. Nothing is happening in your life that is unprecedented. If you think your situation is the worst anyone could experience then, you are being a BIG liar.
Christians should learn how to be grateful to God. There is no way you can make an immediate change in your life without God’s will. Have a look at this verse before I continue;
“The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue is from the LORD” (Proverbs 16:1).
A Quick Lesson From The Couple Who Gave Up On God
I would like to summarise the real story of a Christian couple who gave up on God and finally committed suicide. It happened somewhere in Europe this very year (2019). I believe some of my readers have heard it in the news or found it elsewhere.
It happened that after several years of marriage(more than 10 years) they couldn’t produce children. As devout as they are, they stayed faithful to each other whiles they kept their faith in God alive and actively participated in church activities.
Finally, joy knock at their door… They had a baby boy. They were grateful and thanked God for answering their prayers.
In the third year, the Baby was seriously sick… It was a brain tumor. Oh gosh… The Doctor proposed surgery and it was done successfully. As their Christian life story seems to be blissful, then bad news crops up.
So it happened that the baby only lived for about 7 years and died. The couple wept bitterly and left notes behind saying God hasn’t been fair to them.
The next day, they committed suicide. This is one of the saddest stories I’ve ever heard this year. Giving up on God would rather make things turn sour.
Can we compare this sad story with the afflictions of Job? I don’t think so. What Jonny Cash said is very true; Christianity is not for sissies. It takes a real man to fight the good fight.
This is one of the saddest life stories you could ever hear. If things are still not going the way you expect; you can’t blame God; neither can you put HIM into compulsion. Just keep the faith alive, irrespective of your circumstances.
Giving Up On God Would Be Your Greatest mistake
If you call yourself a Christian and for one or two reasons you start thinking of giving up on God; Then you need to reconsider your decision.
Taking that step wouldn’t blot out your afflictions. Why not trust His timing? Dare not seek help from other spiritual mediums else you would incur God’s wrath on your life.
King David, apostle Paul and Job, for instance, were servants of God but nothing exempted them from afflictions and other emotional pains. They kept on praising God and believing in HIS name.
All their complaints went up to God and He redeemed them. Nothing happening in your life is unprecedented. Let the life
of these Bible, characters inspire you enough to keep on trusting God unconditionally.
“Indeed we felt as if the sentence of death had been passed against us, so that we would not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead. He delivered us from so great a risk of death, and he will deliver us. We have set our hope on him that he will deliver us yet again” ( 2 Corinthians 1:9-10).
Instead of feeling hopeless, weak and disappointed in life, read your Bible in addition to Lisa Osteen’s encouraging book of not giving up on God from Amazon. You can click on the book’s facing image below to get it.
If you can get a copy of the two books; they will help rewire your brain to get rid of the negative perspective of God’s intervention in your life. Let the scriptures renew your mind so that you don’t give up on God.
May your faith be renewed in Christ Jesus today. Never say God doesn’t care about you so you will do it all by yourself. With Him all things are possible. Stay blessed and don’t forget to share with loved ones.
It is hard alot of the times, and only seems to get harder. When I think of giving up on God, my thoughts immediately drift towards weariness of existing. From the womb to the grave it seems, God has ordained that I live a scourged, crucified life. A life of immense abuse and trauma, poverty and destitution.
Looking back, God never truly allowed me a single happy day, joyous moment. It is as if God takes inventory of my life, and ensures anyone that could of cared about me is always removed from my life. Anything I find remotely enjoyable is quickly stripped away from my life. Every opportunity, every treasure of value I ever owned, any money owed to me as either a debt or settlement, God has always denied and removed from my life.
I may not have been as perfect as Job, but Job could say “God gives and God takes”, while I can only say “God takes”. How many years did Job suffer before he questioned God’s righteousness? Some say a couple weeks, others a couple months or years. For almost 40 years God made me suffer the most horrible loneliness, injustice after injustice, and emotional pain akin to the Lake of Fire.
All the while I have to endure Satan’s constant temptations and mocking. How is God different then any other person who caused harm to me, or looked the other way as I suffered, even as a small child? From the depth of my soul, all I can cry out to my Maker is “Et tu God? Et tu?”.
I don’t care about the promises or rewards. God is the God of existence and it is his to command. But, but, after living a life of everyone being unjust towards me, and God being no better or worse then anyone else in my life(quick to exploit/use me, without genuine care or remorse, ungenerous, and quick to do evil to me if it is profitable), why would I want to exist, let alone eternally?
When ever it seems like God has let up, in truth it is nothing more then when the Romans offered Christ vinegar to ease his thirst, before stabbing him with a spear. To me, God is just, righteous and holy, to those whom he desires to be, and unjust, unrighteous and unholy to those whom he desires to be.
If it is profitable for God to do evil, then that is what he does. Even reading his “promises”, I have grown cynical. Like “great, the moment when we no longer have the capacity to suffer, that is when you stop doing evil. But for as long as mortals need food, water, clothing and shelter, God delights in causing hardship and suffering to see if we love him. He only gives, when there is nothing left to receive. He is as a father, who seeks out his childs most favorite and desired toy, promises it to his child, then proceeds to keep it stored away to make sure the child loves him more then the thing the child desires. After many long years, the father gives it to his child. His child have grown old, married and having children of their own no longer desires the toy, and instead gives it to their own child.” God is as a baker who bakes the most delectable loaf of bread, and makes his children wait to eat not when it is fresh and most delicious, but only when it has grown stale and moldy. After all the father has to make sure his children love him more then the bread”.
How can I love God when I don’t even love myself?
When Christ spoke of God as being like a corrupt magistrate, from my vantage point he wasn’t far off.
If I could say anything to God it would be this: “I’m sorry I caught your eye and tempted you to do evil because you seen how much you could prosper doing evil to me via using me to bear witness as a suffering servant from womb to grave: I’m sorry I ever trusted in you; I’m sorry I was born; I’m sorry that I exist”.
Hello Crossbearer,
Your comment nearly drove me to shed tears… It’s sad and heart-touching. Like many others who are wondering about the whereabouts of God while going through constant hardships.
One question I ask people when I’m out there doing evangelism is “what do you need most here on earth?” The only solid answer I accept is “Jesus Christ.”
May Christ Jesus always be your portion even if you have nothing at all. The world and its material goods + desires of the flesh are passing by.
I will still encourage you to endure, and fight the good fight to the end. Apostle Paul being so anointed also went through severe trials and temptations. He, therefore, likened a true Christian’s journey here on earth as a soldier, farmer, boxer, slave, runner, etc,
I pray that the Lord who created the universe glorifies himself through you before you leave this earth. May the Holy Spirit revive you to keep on holding unto the faith.
Finally, don’t give up on God because His ways and thoughts are different and bigger than yours. (Isaiah 55:8 – 9) Just as you think it’s too late, there the Light of God will shine bright in your life.
Keep on praying —ask God to grant you his grace as He said to Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:9 “…“My grace is enough for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
God is yet to tell you “we don’t use the same watch.” Have patience and stay faithful…
Remember this: where there is life there is hope.
May God (Jehovah Jireh) bless and restore to you everything you have lost in double. Amen!
