Understanding Why You Shouldn’t Pray For An Easy Life

It could taste soar in the mouth if you aspire to be successful without any effort. Life is full of struggles so don’t pray for an easy life. This quote opens our eyes by differentiating between lazybones and hard workers.

The road to success has always been crooked. You can’t change the map, but you can overcome the challenges on the way. Desperation for whatever reason could plunge you into life-threatening situations such as suicidal thoughts. Avoid it and stay positive. Nobody lives on this planet without facing challenges in life. It’s part of the journey so we’ve been told not to pray for an easy life. This sounds a little controversial but when taken with a grain of salt one would make a lot of meanings out of it.

Have you heard of this quote “Do not pray for an easy life?” I guess you have. It is a powerful saying attributed to Bruce Lee. Let me help you understand it better. If you are wondering why your beautiful dreams and plans have been met with hiccups; then it is time to think outside the box.

“Do not pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one.” —Bruce Lee

What Does It Mean Not To Pray For An Easy Life?

This simply means life will always throw challenges at you but this should be met with resilience, positive thoughts, and good planning.

However, you may wish or pray for an easy life, but if you are unprepared; even a miraculous breakthrough would not propel you to the top of the ladder of success. Why? Because you ain’t truly ready!

If you believe in prayer like myself, it doesn’t mean you should be moving around with your hands stacked in-between your lap. Seriously God hates laziness. He blesses those who are ready to till the land and plant good seeds that bring bumper harvests.

Don’t Yearn For An Easy Life

Cutting corners to be successful in life is a dangerous trip I will never advise my readers to take. Shortcuts are for the lazy guys. They are those who try their best to avoid the slightest pain that will hit their muscles.

Remember that Life itself obeys natural laws. Unarguably, it rewards those who work hard and purposefully but leaves the lazybones in the dirt. If you work hard and diligently you will surely see progress that will be a bigger success for you in the long run. The sad truth is that it might take a long time –so patience is needed here.

Take a look around the entire world; those who have truly attained success have had their share of the ups and downs in life.

Most of the world’s richest men started small and went through really difficult moments before making it big. Your jaw will drop if you get to know that someone like Fred Lam was a dishwasher before becoming filthy rich. He and several others’ rag-to-riches stories would surely psych anyone up to face life challenges with confidence and a positive mindset.

Everyone Has A Story — Stop The Excuses

Life has always not been easy since the first man was cursed in the Garden of Eden. Stop the flimsy excuses and go out there to chase your dreams.

Yes, everyone you see on the street woke up to accomplish something (hard workers with vision) or run in circles without any productive effort (the lazy ones/visionless).

If you truly believe, you can succeed in life and in whatever venture you have in mind; then do not pray for an easy life. Brace yourself so that you do not swim with the stream like a dead fish. It’s time to fight through ocean currents and storms.

If you think you could be that lucky for life to present to you all that you are searching for without any effort; then be grateful. Anyway, I haven’t yet seen or heard this kind of strange story before; I’m yet to hear if anything of that sort exists.

Bruce Lee’s thoughts on not praying for an easy life resonate well with what we see happening in this world. Even in religious books like the Bible, we get to know that there is some kind of warfare or struggle between good and evil. It isn’t meant for the weak.

What If You Get Disappointed?

You see, some guys seem to be too wise and crafty that they try their best to avoid the pains that lead to gain. Their fruitless hope is to stay idle and expect honey to drip into their mouths from the honeycomb. That’s their prayer every day. Uh oh, what a wasteful wish. No serious person will entertain this in his mind.

It’s like a death trap. It would yield nothing; you could spend days and years, wishing and praying for that silly easy life. When did God answer the prayers of the lazy wanting to be successful?

If you aren’t willing to do something with your hand, brain, and strength, then get ready for your early grave. Unless you were born silver spoon in the mouth.

Even with this you are not entirely secured because riches and wealth diminish over a period of time when a lazy man takes charge. The best of it all is to put yourself to work. Utilize your time, energy, and other resources and reap the respective results.

Pray For Strength

Now let wisdom speak. Instead of praying for an easy life why not pray for the strength to overcome the challenges in life? I mean pray for the strength, energy, and wisdom to triumph over all your challenges.

Pray for strength not an easy life

“Do not pray for easy lives; pray to be stronger men. Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers; pray for powers equal to your tasks. Then the doing of your work shall be no miracle, but you yourself shall be a miracle. Every day you shall wonder at yourself, at the richness of life which has come to you by the grace of God.” —Phillips Brooks

There is nothing more beautiful than seeing the light at the end of the dark tunnel. There is much peace, joy, and a great sense of relief after seeing all your sacrifices and efforts reward you with genuine success. Be proud if you can stay strong and fight for your lofty goals.

The world needs people who are resilient to failure and all other negativities. So never pray for an easy life, instead pray for the strength to endure all the pains that bring success and happiness in the long run.
