When The Time Is Right I will Make It Happen — Isaiah 60:22

When The Time Is Right... — Isaiah 60:22

We can’t trust anyone or creature more than the Lord. So it’s necessary to take His words of promises seriously. His timing and transformation in the lives of His faithful children are incomprehensible.

I often wonder why some Christians easily grow impatient and fall into the devil’s trap. The Lord created time, space, and everything in this vast universe. His awesomeness is beyond human and angelic comprehension. No intelligent human can fathom that. This is the God who promised the Israelites that “when the time comes I will make it…” This profound Bible verse truly inspires many of us. So today I want us to dive a little deeper and see what the Lord meant for us.

Yes, I said “us” because we are partakers of His glorious inheritance through the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus. And His words and promises are trustworthy.

Sometimes, life seems bleak and hopeless; anxiety builds up and makes us restless and fearful of the future. This also confuses us in our current circumstances. Not knowing which way to take, God must always be our compass and hope of redemption. Sadly, no one can move the Right hand of the Lord forcibly irrespective of the magnitude of your shame and challenges. It’s not possible to push God against his timing.

Time and tide wait for no man illustration

Again, no one can control time, space, and events except the Lord. So this post stands out to remind you to believe in the delivering power of the Lord.

Breaking Down Isaiah 60:22 Verse In The Bible

The Israelites went through severe pain and hardships. Although disobedient nation, the Lord’s love for them was unconditional. He was always ever ready to welcome His stubborn children when they repent and acknowledge Him as their Lord.

I believe you have already acknowledged Yahweh as your God and have also believed in His Son Jesus. If that is the case, then the promise of this restoration has also been your portion through Jesus Christ.

Take a look at the verse below:

“The least of you will multiply into a thousand; the smallest of you will become a large nation. When the right time comes, I the LORD will quickly do this!” (Isaiah 60:22)

Here, even th least of people of Israel was promised to multiply. God is a God who is capable of multiplying the little investment we have made in our businesses and other important ventures.

He can let one seed grow out of the ground with hundreds and thousands of fruits. He did it for the people of Israel and He is still doing it for His faithful children today.

• Little one/smallest of you

Again, the verse mentions “little one,” —Meaning even one, and the smallest in number or rank shall increase and multiply in thousands.

This trustworthy promise cuts across several other Bible verses from the Old Testament to the New Testament hence authenticating the Lord’s good thoughts and plans for His children. And everything He says comes to pass.

Be reminded of the parable of the mustard seed and how it grows and multiplies.

“It is the smallest of all the seeds, but when it has grown it is the greatest garden plant and becomes a tree, so that the wild birds come and nest in its branches.” (Matthew 13:32)

• His Time

The verse reminds us that the promise will happen in God’s own appointed time, not yours or mine. No matter how desperate you are for a change or breakthrough.

With our impatience, we might try to hasten it, but it will come in due time as the Lord has purposed. This is one of the bitter truths of God’s dispensation for His children.

So, always remember that when the time is right, the Lord will make the promises about you come true. So now I humbly implore you to take it like, it’s not the right time for your breakthrough but the Lord is working around the clock… But please never doubt God or give up on Him.

Take the story of Jesus’ birth for example. The promise of His coming never failed:

“But when the appropriate time had come, God sent out his Son, born of a woman, born under the law” (Galatians 4:4).

In the same way, the promise of the restoration of Israel and the conversion of the world came true at the appointed time of the Lord.

Interestingly the book of Ecclesiastics 3 also says, there is time for everything. So believe that your time will come…

Life Lessons From Isaiah 60:22

Today, I would like you to know and properly understand that your anxiousness can’t create any positive change in your life if it isn’t God’s will or time.

May these life lessons below help you to grow in patience, as Apostle Paul calls it, long-suffering through endurance.
And the

1. God Transforms Small Beginnings into Greatness

The verse is so inspiring that it illustrates how God can elevate the “least” and “smallest” into something mighty. Even if you think you are too small, low, unworthy, etc, the Lord can put you in front of the table of kings and princes like Mepheboshet (shame dispeller in Hebrew) in the days of David. It’s an honor nobody thought could happen to an undeserving dog like him.

In fact, that was an unexpected blessing that happened at God’s appropriate time.

If God has done it for Israel and a lot of others, why can’t he do it for you, too? May you stay faithful to Him throughout the ups and downs of your life.

Again, it teaches us not to despise humble beginnings, it could be about personal goals, relationships, marriages, businesses, or faith. My dear, I encourage you to trust that God can multiply your little endeavors beyond imagination as we can also see in Zechariah 4:10).

2. Divine Timing Requires Patient Trust

Remember, the verse also mentions, “in its time.” This simply means God works with his timeline, not mine or yours or anyone, so stop putting Him into compulsion.

I understand the pain of waiting isn’t a pleasant thing to handle. But the Lord is perfect in His doings and timing. If you truly believe this, then keep on trusting. It’s better this way than to fight your way out because without Christ life is full of crisis. And with Jesus, all things are possible.

Your waiting on God’s timing requires self-discipline, persistent prayer, and faithfulness. I once prayed for the Lord to fix an impossible problem for me and it took more than a year —that the answer came right in front of my eyes.

I felt ashamed of how I thought the Lord would use the most obvious means;
But He rather opened the door of the impossible in His own time. Meanwhile, I had wanted the answer within a month or two. I finally realized the time of receiving the answer to my prayer resulted in double fold and it was the best.

Listen to what the book of Habbakuk is saying to us;

“For the message is a witness to what is decreed; it gives reliable testimony about how matters will turn out. Even if the message is not fulfilled right away, wait patiently; for it will certainly come to pass – it will not arrive late” Habakkuk 2:3)

3. God’s Sovereignty Guarantees His Promises

The declaration “I am the LORD” underscores His authority and faithfulness. Do you get that? When He decides to move, nothing can stop Him. This is so interesting and inspiring. The God we serve is unstoppable when He is on the move!

4. Swift Blessings Follow Patient Waiting

God often works suddenly (“swiftly”) after a period of waiting. This paradox encourages us to be ready for rapid change. God is never late or too early. Just think about this for a minute…

If you think you have been delayed in life or your life is wasted for whatever reason, know that a miracle from God can shorten the whole process and make it glorious.

5. Community Growth Reflects God’s Heart

The focus on a “large or mighty nation” highlights God’s love for collective flourishing. The body of Christ is blessed with all heavenly riches.

Worshipping God
God has also instructed us not to neglect meeting ourselves for fellowship. He desires to bless the entire church as well. So the fulfillment of the promise will flourish from individual bricks to the whole body of Christ.

6. Humility Opens the Door to God’s Power

Here, I want to draw your attention to something crucial. You see, most believers today are obsessed with divine blessings without being obedient. If you truly want to see the goodness of the Lord then be a doer of His word; humble yourself and rely fully on His provisions. He is the same Jehovah Jireh who provided for Abraham.
