A Look At What Love Does Us

A Look At What Love Does Us

Have you thought about what love does in our lives? It’s immeasurable. Jesus gave us an example. It is time we prove our love towards God and everyone.

Love does good to us

NB: The word “love” in this article mainly refers to “agape.” This comes first before any other type of love.

The Bible says God is love. If that is the case then anyone who does not love does not know God. It sounds as simple as that. There is power in love. It is the greatest virtue you could ever exercise on earth.

Living the life of a Christian requires genuine love towards God and our neighbors. Hatred should be banished from our hearts.

You can’t love God and hate a friend. How many times do we tell the people around us that we love them?

“If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen.” (1 John 4:20)

In this piece of content, I would like to tell you about what love does? Do you have it? Then show it!

Never procrastinate to show it. “Time and tides wait for no man.” Love heals, restores, gives hope, joy, encouragement, life, etc to people.

Even if you aren’t telling your friends and the people around you that you love them —you must express it.

Love is a noun —but becomes a verb when put into expression or action. Love needs proof but faith doesn’t. The fruits of your life should come out of love. And must be pleasing to God.

It feels like this is a pre-Valentine’s Day post because the celebration is just around the corner (14th February). St. Valentine gave a historical expression of love by defying the emperor’s order of not blessing marriages. He was martyred…

Love in action is the most significant part that warms the heart and brings hope to people. Jesus Christ proved His love for us by dying on the cross.

We ought to show love wherever we find ourselves. The Book of 1 Corinthians 13:4 – 8 gave us a wonderful definition of love:

Reading from verses 4 to 5 says:

“Love is patient, love is kind, it is not envious. Love does not brag, it is not puffed up. It is not rude, it is not self-serving, it is not easily angered or resentful.”

What Love Does To Us In Life

As humans, we carry the image of God. His blood flows through us. The godly part of us must be seen by everyone. Just like Jesus, he loved to the extent of loving those who hated him. Are we doing the same? Huh, that’s tough, but we are taught to return hate with love. Our rewards come from the Lord.

Love around the world

In the last verse in 1 Corinthians about love, it states that “love never ends…” You can find that in verse 8.

That is very true. What love does is beyond measure. It is unlimited.

Through God’s love, we have been redeemed from sin and its punishment through the grace and blood of Jesus Christ.

Love whispers forgiveness, kindness, patience, hope, etc, into our hearts. The Devil never loves. He pretends and disguises himself to trap vulnerable Christians.

He does that through the projection of worldly pleasures and money. He can offer you the whole world and claim to love you. But that is a BIG lie. He does that to claim your precious soul. The result is eternal damnation. There is no light or love in the Devil and his agents. He only fakes it.

Genuine love is pure and honest. I mean it’s transparent.

Love Reigns In Our World

Yes, God reigns over all His creation. We act as children of God by being good and kind to our fellow humans.

Has anyone told you about the most popular hashtag on the internet? It is #love. #Love is used in 2.1 billion posts on the internet. I guess you have used it before if you are the kind who posts on social media.

The power of love cuts across all nations, races, religions, cultures, etc, This is one of the unfathomable things love does for us.

Expression Of Love In Action

Like I said early —if you’ve got someone in your heart —you have to show him/her love. There should be some signs indicating that you genuinely care. God says in Psalms 33:15 that He made the heart and so knows everything we do on earth.

Let’s always show our fellow humans love. Express it in many different ways. The Bible says if your friend needs something that you can help him with—don’t tell him to go and come later.

What if he goes and something bad happens? (eg. commits suicide)

Giving is one common act of love. There is much blessing in this active form of love. How often do we even give? I like random kindness. I like surprising people by showing them love in so many ways.

It’s part of our divine responsibilities. Help the weak, give justice to the one who deserves it, take care of widows and orphans. Your Lord and Saviour will bless you; Because you are walking in His footsteps.

Caring for nature
Love is universal and reciprocal. However, if people fail to appreciate your kindness, let that not change your character. God loves us. He grieves if we fail to love Him —but that doesn’t change His character.

We must also love Him. We often contemplate why God hasn’t given us this and that while He says He loves us. Many of us have always been ungrateful to the Lord.

Take a look at the many things He has been doing for you —most especially the breath of life.

Instead of questioning God’s love for you —ask yourself “Do I love God?

You believe so; then do His will. Be obedient, faithful, patient, and truthful to the Lord. Then the blessings will overflow through His abundant grace.

Giving your whole heart to God is very necessary. The fruits of the Spirit must be seen in you. Are you bearing good fruits for the Lord?

May He help us love Him with all our hearts, mind, and strength. May we also show genuine love towards the people we come into contact with.
