How Religion Positively Impacts Your Lifestyle

Cross

As religious people, our lifestyles revolve around our beliefs; we integrate them into our daily routines. An extract from the Bible summarizes that we should strive to achieve “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” This helps us to be good people who are productive members of society. Continue reading for a few main ways our religion is beneficial to our lives.

Spiritual Serenity in Your Home

It’s wise to let our spirituality influence our decisions when we decorate our homes because we will be able to create a serene, calming environment that reflects our religion and makes us feel comfortable and closer to God. Many practicing Catholics and Christians choose to do this and as a result, have beautiful, harmonious homes.

If we surround ourselves with religious décor, not only does this pay homage to the Lord, but it will also positively influence our whole household by serving as a reminder of what is spiritually important to us.

Promoting Peace

One of the key aspects of being religious is that we are taught to always “Love Thy Neighbour”. This is an important fundamental for Christians and Catholics, ensuring acceptance and forgiveness from our loved ones and others around us. Furthermore, it provides us with inner peace by ensuring minimum conflict and teaching us to let go of negative emotions toward someone. Studies have shown that people of religion have less aggression and disputes with others.

Evangelical Events

Alongside being more peaceful and accepting of others, there are other ways religion helps us to have a better social life. Between church and other spiritual groups, we are always surrounded by like-minded people with the same morals who will always support us.

Challenging Corruption

When we harbor high standards and oppose corruption, we honor God’s will and do our best to create a better world. Recent studies show that religious people are more likely to vote to make a change rather than be pessimistic. They also show a correlation between believing in God and challenging bad behavior. In fact, there is evidence to suggest that religious communities have lower crime rates.

Your Body is a Temple

You may be aware that this mantra originates from Paul the Apostle: “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit?” (Corinthians 6:19-20) It’s certainly true that our bodies are valuable tools, gifted to us from God so that we may walk the Earth. Therefore, most believers are more likely to take better care of their physical health by eating clean and abstaining from harmful substances.
After all, our body “does not belong to us. It belongs to God.” (Genesis 1:27) Scientific evidence supports that religious people are often healthier and may even have reduced risks of terminal illnesses.

There are so many more ways that our commitment to God is strongly beneficial to our lives. No matter how you personally practice your spirituality, if we abide by God’s holy word and always advocate our beliefs, we can lead healthier, happier, and humble lives.
