In the Old Testament, the Prophets and patriarchs communicated with God in a form of prayer or direct communication. God is so real that he listened to them and answered their prayers on several occasions.

The Disciples of Christ Jesus barely knew how to pray so they asked Jesus. The Bible says God knows your needs before you even ask, he expects you to ask through prayers anyway.

“Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.” ( Mathew 6:8)

Jesus taught his disciples how to pray:

“Therefore, you should pray this way: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Let your kingdom come. Let your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven…. “( Matthew 6:9 – 15)

“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness, for we do not know how we should pray, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with inexpressible groanings.” ( Romans 8:26)

God has already instructed us to be prayerful all day and night for prayers are the greatest weapon for winning both spiritual and physical battles against the enemies.

Often, Christians prefer Bible study on prayer on daily basis but since the flesh is too weak they fail to be consistent. Even though a bible reading plan for the year is available.

Christians, therefore, need to pray for spiritual strength that will help overshadow any weaknesses in the flesh.

“I repeat, be strong and brave! Don’t be afraid and don’t panic, for I, the LORD your God, am with you in all you do.” ( Joshua 1:9)
