Understanding The Mystery About Why Tomorrow Is Not Promised

Understanding The Mystery About Why Tomorrow Is Not Promised

Who knows tomorrow? Who can tell us the future? Find out about some of the reasons why you should embrace the fact that tomorrow is not promised. Your life is just like a puff of smoke…

tomorrow is not promised
Sadly, nothing can guarantee you and your plans tomorrow to come true. Yes! Tomorrow is not promised to anyone.

Life teaches us so many lessons. We just move about without knowing what could happen to us in the next few minutes. Have you thought about why tomorrow is not promised?

We must first understand that our human nature has no power over natural laws and certain events. You cannot control time, space, seasons, etc. It takes the supernatural power to see through the future and only God can do this best!

Look, it is estimated that, each day 150,000 people die around the world. They never knew that would happen. For instance, the recent misfortune (earthquake) that happened in Turkey and Syria took the lives of thousands of people. Maybe they had better plans than you; But that never guaranteed their existence.

People who died yesterday had plans just like us. But unfortunately, they did not live to see those plans.

Someone might find himself in trouble or on the grips of death while family members, friends, co-workers, loved ones, etc, would be waiting to see him around. Why because he told them “he will be back.” That was the farewell message.

When you hear that we are not promised tomorrow; it means two different things:

1. The brevity of life

2. The uncertainties of life

It is about your very existence against nature. You have no contract with nature that it shouldn’t rain tomorrow because you have an important meeting whatsoever.

Life is full of uncertainties. This is why we must be grateful to God each day we wake up from bed. Because nothing guarantees your existence and plans in the next few minutes. Life is unpredictable and death is inevitable.

However, with Christ in the vessel, we remain hopeful of a better future. And more importantly an eternal life.

Do You Believe Tomorrow Is Not Promised?

Yes, tomorrow is truly not a promise to anyone. As we go on with our daily activities, we must remind ourselves that tomorrow is not guaranteed. Yes!, Anything can happen at any moment. Tomorrow always remains a mystery; Unless the supernatural power of God reveals it.

He is the God of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. With Him, everything works perfectly for His glory.

I have already talked about the best ways of taking good care of ourselves in one of my recent posts. Today is an extension of how life can take us by surprise in different  ways. I iterated that, making a promise is not advisable. Again Procrastination too isn’t a good habit.

In fact, as for procrastination, it could bring about a serious regretful moment that can never be undone. Try to avoid it outright.

Tomorrow is not promised Bible verse

“Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow let us go into this city, and spend a year there, trade, and make a profit.” Whereas you do not know what tomorrow will be like. What is your life like?

For you are a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. For you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will both live, and do this or that.” But now you glory in your boasting. All such boasting is evil.” (James 4:13 – 16)

Facts To Remember While You Breathe Today

The most interesting thing is that; All our dreams and lofty goals are ahead of us. But we don’t know what tomorrow brings. We are only hopeful because tomorrow is not guaranteed to anyone.

You can’t dare to see tomorrow by any means necessary. Because it is beyond your control. You can’t dare to do something you have planned tomorrow with 100% certainty.

God threw a challenge at Job asking him if he could command the day daylight to shine.:

“Have you ever in your life commanded the morning, or made the dawn know its place” (Job 38:12).

No one can control the days, time, and seasons. But we do enjoy all these by the grace of God. In him, we find much assurance of a happy future, and more importantly eternal life.

As I keep on unfolding some of the reasons why tomorrow is not promised; I would like to remind you about the major thing scaring millions of people; and it goes like  Death is the biggest enemy.

Death, on the other hand, can’t scare my kind, fear can’t scare my kind, and neither will misfortune scare anyone who knows his purpose here on earth. Aren’t we just travelers? The Bible says we are citizens of heaven.

It is like asking a soldier, “Are you scared of death?” That would be a rhetorical question. A real soldier is always ready to smile at his death. He knows tomorrow is not promised. He wouldn’t stress over it. Tomorrow will stress over itself.

True Christians are soldiers in Christ. And are always willing to die for his name’s sake. Because in Christ we can find everything that we need. So there is no cause for alarm even if we walk through darkness or lose everything.

Since Tomorrow Is Not Promised, Should We Be Afraid?

On my side and behalf of all true Christians; We believe tomorrow is not guaranteed to anyone. We should therefore acknowledge the fact that it is by the grace of God that we wake up each morning.

It is not because of anyone’s money, wealth, beauty, status, etc. It is a gift we must enjoy. The grace and mercy of God help us execute our future plans without any fear.

Workers making plans for tomorrow
“A man’s heart plans his course, but the LORD directs his steps” (Proverbs 16:9).

God is the only one who knows the future. Human beings cannot fathom his greatness. God uses his right hand to protect those who rely on him. Just put God first in everything you do and you will be secure in life.

He has promised to give his children a brighter future and He is not a man that He should lie.

Having the Spirit of God in you will make you fearless. Just like what 1 John 4:4 says:

“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.”

You Surely Have Plans For Tomorrow

I believe you had your plans yesterday about your today’s schedule. Oh thank God, today has met you. But it has been an unfortunate moment for someone else. Think about this. Life is unfair right? The person might find himself in trouble or death might have laid its icy hands on him.

Tomorrow is always a mystery to us. Taking a critical look at this scenario; Let me draw your attention to the fact that, you don’t even know what is going to happen in the next minutes.

Are you ready to accept any occurrence in your life from the next minutes fatefully? Has anyone promised to help you tomorrow? If “Yes“, then bear in mind that it is never guaranteed to you. The unexpected can strike and bring all your plans to a halt. In all, we always hope and pray for the best.

There is only one person to guarantee us tomorrow. He is the Creator of heaven and earth. Those who make his word a lamp unto their feet and paths have the assurance of tomorrow. Not just tomorrow, but eternal life —even if they die today. Even if they fail in life, they will rise again.

Here, it takes the supernatural power of God to make the impossible possible.

Be Wise And Seek For God’s Guidance And Know That Tomorrow Is Not Guaranteed

Don’t be complacent that you will wake up tomorrow to your normal routines. You have no idea of the unknown future.

Remember, you can’t even take care of yourself when you are asleep. The Devil and wicked men can break in to steal, destroy, and kill. Unless God sends an angel to protect you.

You are weak and vulnerable to destruction; so all your plans in life could be fruitless if you are boastful about your strength and wisdom. Learn how to live humbly while God blesses you always out of his abundant grace.

Tomorrow is not promised so attach yourself to the only One who can promise you a brighter future. God shuts and no one opens. He opens and no one shuts. He is the Creator of this universe.

Tomorrow and the future are always ahead of us but we can’t see it. Imagine how amazing it looks.

Don’t be like the rich man who stored food in his barns, ate, drank, and felt complacent about tomorrow. What happened to him? God said, “You fool, tonight I will take your life from you.”

You can find this scripture in Luke 12.

Verse 18, “And he said, This I will do: I will take down my store-houses and make greater ones, and there I will put all my grain and my goods.”

19. “And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have a great amount of goods in store, enough for a number of years; be at rest, take food and wine and be happy.”

20.” But God said to him, You foolish one, tonight I will take your soul from you, and who then will be the owner of all the things which you have got together?”

The Grace Of God Is Here To Take You Through Tomorrow

The only person who can assure you “tomorrow” is God. He knows everything, he can do everything. Why not live under his wings?

Before you conquer the fear and anxieties of tomorrow you need to understand some of God’s promises to give you a brighter future.

Although tomorrow is not promised to anyone with God and his amazing grace; it will be full of blessings, success, healing, happiness, and redemption.

I recommend finding out more about what the grace of God has for you in the next years of your life. You are covered with the blood of Jesus.
